How is it possible that we will be on our way in four weeks?! At this time next month, we will be in Belgium, getting used to the 8-hour time difference and starting our new normal.
This past week, Arturo started his out-processing. He will finish up right before we leave, but it's getting real with only 15 days left of work here at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. Arturo is a supply Sergeant, and he is going through a change of command at work, which is a super busy time, so he is trying to leave things as easy as possible for everyone during this changeover.
We scheduled our pre-move survey with the movers this week for two weeks out. This will allow them to see all our things, what packing materials they will need, how many packers, and how much time they will need. This should be our easiest move since it's just the three of us.
The dogs have appointments scheduled for the Friday before we leave for their Health Certificates, which allow them to fly overseas. The certificate is only good for 10 days, so to be safe in case of delays, we will have it done two days before we fly out.
Even though we can't sign a lease until we have gone through our in-processing and housing briefing, we can look at what's out there. I look daily and have a list of houses I would like to see, if they are still available when we arrive. If you are curious what the homes in Belgium look like, you can check out this site. I'm blogging tonight since I leave first thing in the morning to fly to Colorado to see my daughter and her family. I can't wait to see these cuties!!! 😍
Arturo and the boys will be without me for just over a week. With so much going on, I'm blessed to be able to spend the time away while the guys take care of things here. I've got a wonderful family for sure!
