The hunt for our Belgium home ~ Day 3

Today was another HOT and sunny day here. I wasn't expecting to be out in the sun as much as I was, and I ended up with a lot of color today. They don't have air conditioning here, even in restaurants, which is unusual for us.

We got a late start today and ended up seeing four homes. Our first home was meant for Liam. He loved everything about it. Super modern, all high-end appliances and security features. For me, it had zero character and charm inside and outside.

Our second home was a revisit to the very first house we looked at. I am still absolutely in love with it, but the guys are concerned that it is only a 1.5-bathroom house. The landlord was doing some work on it today, but I was able to take some video for you to see.

The second house was only 2 minutes from the first. I was able to find a home on the grounds of a castle!

It was so quaint! If you can believe it, there were chickens and peacocks all over the castle grounds. They had a large pond and 15 beautiful acres that would be ours to roam.

The home was in the castle garden and filled with history!

Can you see the peacock on the back porch?
The only issue is it was small. 3 small bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a small living room in the middle. We would feel like we were all on top of each other.

When we told the realtor we felt the home was too small for us, she said she had another one to show us. It was the town's old library converted into a family home.
A family was living in it who were on vacation, and to say they did not take care of the place inside and out was putting it nicely. That was a big turnoff. I could not see us living in that home.

The PCS season is starting next month, and we will have many newcomers to compete with when finding a home. I'm trying to make sure everyone is happy with the decision that we make. We are in no rush when it comes to our HHG (household goods), as they are still in Tacoma and have not been shipped yet. Once they do it will take about a month to reach us. Hoping that happens next week.
