Italy trip day 5 ~ Venice!

Yesterday was day 5 of our Italy trip, and I am T-I-R-E-D. We have been going non-stop every day, and I barely had time to take my makeup off before falling to sleep.

Liam had a half day of volleyball practice yesterday, so we were finally able to take him out to explore Italy! We weren't sure of where to go, but we ended up 45 minutes away in Venice. It was in the 90's, so it was a hot day of walking. We took a gondola ride to get a break and see the city from another viewpoint.

We saw the houses of Marco Polo and Casanova, or as our gondola driver referred to him as the sex machine. 🤣

After the gondola tour, we explored the shops and even bought an oil painting by a local artist of the canal at night. Once I get it framed, I will be sure and share it! I love getting things when we visit, to always remember the special time there.

We were all very hot and tired, so we found a nice little restaurant and enjoyed some Italian pasta, wine, and dessert!
Venice was really nice and not at all how you read it negatively described. We didn't feel unsafe at all, and it was very clean. We could have stayed longer, but the sun was going down on our way back, and we were ready to relax.
Venice was a great way to end our time in Italy,
for sure!

for sure!
